Narratives for Interaction

About

This course introduces students to the core concepts of narrativity and interaction in new media/computational/emerging art, including forms such as digital and analogue games, interactive stories, database narratives, generative, and interactive installations. Using examples, it discusses different modes of interactivity, as well as different theories of interaction. Students embark on a practical project production to apply ideas and techniques of relating interactivity and narrative content. This foundation of working with interactive narratives enables them to develop more advanced interactive projects in senior courses such as the Final Year Project.
